To enhance your garden and make the most of your outdoor area

Decking is a great way to enhance your garden

It provides an additional seating area for relaxing and an entertaining area for family and friends.

It can also be used on difficult sloping sites.

Decking can provide a cost effective solution to terracing.

We work with a number of different materials that come into 3 main categories:

Soft wood, Hard wood and composite.

Usually hard wood and the composite are a similar price and both are harder wearing than the softwood.

These installations will typically last 50% longer than the softwood decks, will look better for longer, they are also around 50% more expensive due to the higher cost of materials.

Decking installation

Decking can be installed into your garden with minimal disruption to the wider space. The ground underneath is treated with a weed killer and then a PVC membrane is laid down to further suppress any weed or plant growth.
Many methods can be used for decking ‘ring beam’, for example eliminating the need for foundations altogether as the beams sit on a trench of gravel.

Closeboard fencing

Closeboard fencing is a good type of fencing to have installed in your back gardens as it will allow you to have good privacy from your neighbours.

It will also allow you to have a good decorative feature around your garden to make it more welcoming and secure. Closeboard fencing can also be maintained well by ensuring that they always look neat and tidy with a fresh coat of paint.

Good preparation of the soil is essential to ensure the turf takes well. We will need to remove all weeds and dig in well-rotted manure or another organic matter and then top with soil.

After laying the turf, we advise customers to keep off the lawn for a few days, to encourage root growth. Tony will advise you on watering over the first few weeks. If you have dogs, or want a low maintenance garden then you may want to consider artifical turf.

Turfing installation

Artificial turf is a surface of synthetic fibers made to look like natural grass. It is most often used in arenas for sports that were originally or are normally played on grass. However, it is now being used on residential lawns and commercial applications as well.

Step 1 - Pre-Installation
Step 2 - Base Preparation
Step 3 - Compact the base
Step 4 - Weed resistant layer
Step 5 - Lay the turf
Step 6 - Customise and fit the turf
Step 7 - Tuck in the turf ages
Step 8 - Apply filter
Step 9 - Finishing touches

Artificial Turf

Although faux grass is best known as a landscape option for areas that experience drought or dry climates, synthetic grass is also ideal for any area that withstands large amounts of rainfall.

Turf will percolate water faster than natural grass, which it will subsequently dry faster than natural grass.
